Chocolate Fudge… So Versatile!
Isn’t it amazing how our minds work sometimes? I was leading a public cooking class this past week at Artisan Kitchens and I had a question from one of the participants. At first I wasn’t sure if I should be taking him seriously, but from the expression on his face, he was indeed quite serious. The question was “can I eat this chocolate fudge for breakfast?”
Well, quickly my mind raced for an intelligent response that was more substantial than just saying “depending on what you are having for breakfast today, this may be a step up to what you are currently eating.” And then without really thinking too much about it, I heard myself offering this suggestion… “an option to include our chocolate fudge recipe in your breakfast would be to toast up some whole grain bread, take a piece of fudge that has been sitting out at room temperature and spread it on your toast, then grab your favorite fruit, or any fruit you have on hand such as strawberries or an apple and slice up the fruit and put it on the fudge spread toast; enjoy it as is or top with another piece of whole grain toast and you have yourself a healthy chocolate nut spread sandwich!” How fun is that for breakfast?
This was quite an amusing experience for me, in a good way, and that everyone loved the idea. So the next time you make our chocolate fudge, give this a try and tell us how you like it. I personally wouldn’t recommend indulging in this decadent breakfast daily, but once in a while, why not?
